The hills are why most people can name Bohol. They are also 75–120 minutes from Panglao by private vehicle. That single fact decides the day.

What you are looking at

Uplifted limestone, weathered into cones across Carmen, Batuan, Sagbayan and nearby towns. UNESCO’s geopark text is the figure this cluster uses (1,268). Older tourism copy sometimes says 1,776. We do not split the difference in the H1.

They sit in the interior. They are not a Panglao backdrop.

How the hills fit a day

Do not leave Alona at 3 PM “for sunset at the hills.” You will drive in the dark.

Public buses from Dao reach Carmen. They are a poor tool if you also want Loboc and a tarsier sanctuary the same day.


Fees and hours

  • Entrance: ₱100–₱150 band in 2025–2026 reporting. Not a locked official figure on this page.
  • Hours commonly listed around 6:00 AM–6:00 PM; early sunrise entry is reported by visitors even when Google says later. Confirm.
  • “214 steps” is widely reported, not a UNESCO field.

Tarsier fees are a separate, unstable number. Ask which sanctuary the van will use.


Season

Brown grass needs a dry spell. April–May is the usual window, not a guarantee. Habagat is green and often quieter. Either version photographs. Best Time to Visit Bohol.
