Cebu is the gateway to choose when your trip starts with a flight rather than with Siquijor itself.
Mactan-Cebu is the international hub of the Visayas so you get far more routes and better fares than either Dumaguete or Bohol.
Getting from Cebu to Siquijor takes one of two very different shapes. A nonstop Cebu–Siquijor flight covers it in under an hour on selected days. The OceanJet fast craft from Pier 1 takes about 4–4.5 hours via a stop in Tagbilaran.
That ferry is the longest crossing of the three gateways, so treat the sailing as a travel day rather than a transfer.
Choose Cebu if you are flying in from overseas or want to combine Cebu city and Siquijor in one trip.
