The best way to see Siquijor is by scooter. The island is small, the roads are mostly paved and every turn leads to something worth stopping for. Here's everything you need to ride confidently.

Beginner Scooter Route

New to riding or just want a simple, stress-free route? Start here. This route sticks to the main coastal road and avoids steep inland climbs.

  • Start: San Juan (rent your scooter here)
  • Head south along the coast toward Lazi
  • Stop at Cambugahay Falls (park roadside, 5-min walk in)
  • Continue to Lazi Church & Convent
  • Loop back via the northern road through Enrique Villanueva
  • End: San Juan at sunset

Total distance: ~70 km | Estimated time: 4–6 hours with stops

Island Loop Map

The full island loop is approximately 72 km and can be completed in one day. Most riders take 5–7 hours including stops, meals, and swimming.

  • San Juan → Maria → Lazi → San Juan (clockwise)
  • Road condition: mostly good, some rough patches near Lazi
  • Best time to start: 7–8 AM to avoid midday heat
  • Bring: water, sunscreen, a light rain jacket and offline maps

Key Stops Along the Way

  • 🏖 Paliton Beach — best swimming beach on the west coast
  • 💧 Cambugahay Falls — natural pools, rope swing, very photogenic
  • ⛪ Lazi Church — UNESCO-listed heritage site
  • 🏖 Salagdoong Beach — cliff jumping, clear water, entrance fee applies
  • 🌳 Balete Tree — ancient tree with a fish spa at the base
  • 🏖 Kagusuan Beach — secluded, no crowds, bring your own food

  • San Juan → Cambugahay Falls: ~20 min
  • Cambugahay Falls → Lazi: ~15 min
  • Lazi → Salagdoong Beach: ~10 min
  • Salagdoong → Balete Tree: ~25 min
  • Balete Tree → San Juan: ~30 min

Fuel Tips

  • Fill up in San Juan before you leave — gas stations are limited on the east side
  • A full tank costs around ₱150–₱200 and is more than enough for the full loop
  • Small sari-sari stores along the route sell fuel in bottles if you run low
  • Most scooter rentals come with a half tank — always top up before heading out
