⛴Transport
- OceanJet fast craft — ~2–3 hrs, ~₱700–₱1,320. Air-conditioned, passenger only.
- Lite Ferries RORO — ~3 hrs, ~₱260–₱750. Cheapest and the option that carries motorcycles or a car.
- Both operators dock at Larena Port on the north coast — not Siquijor Town.
⏱Timing that works
- Sailings are limited — confirm your boat first, then build the day around it.
- Coming from Panglao, Anda or Chocolate Hills? Add generous transfer time to reach Tagbilaran Port.
- Check in 30–40 minutes before departure. Operators enforce cutoffs.
- The RORO runs some sailings in the evening, which lands you on Siquijor at night.
🎒What to prepare
- Book ahead in peak season — Holy Week, summer and Christmas fill fast on this route.
- Bring cash. Terminal fees and some tickets are cash only.
- Tell your scooter rental and your accommodation you arrive at Larena. It changes their pickup.
- Budget ~₱150–₱300 for a tricycle or habal-habal onward from Larena.
⚠️ Worth knowing before you ride
- You arrive at Larena on the north coast — confirm your onward ride before you sail.
- An evening RORO lands you in the dark. Arrange a pickup rather than improvising at the pier.
- Roads are mostly paved and easy; mountain interiors and waterfall tracks are for confident riders only.
- Fuel up in Larena, Lazi or San Juan before heading to remote corners.
SiquiRide's take
Bohol is the right gateway when you actually want two islands. It is not the easy option and it is not trying to be. The crossing is longer, the sailings are fewer and you land at Larena rather than the capital. Confirm the ferry first. Build the rest of the trip around it and the route works well. If Siquijor is the only place you care about, take Dumaguete instead.
