Booking a Scooter? Here's What to Include

To get you a fast, accurate reply, include these details when you message us:

  • Travel dates — arrival and departure
  • Arrival port — Siquijor Port or Larena Port
  • Accommodation — where you're staying (town or area)
  • Scooter preference — automatic (most common) or manual
  • Rental duration — number of days

  • Any special requests — early pickup, delivery, etc.

The more detail you give us upfront, the faster we can confirm your booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to reserve a scooter in advance?

Yes — especially during peak season (December–May, Holy Week and summer break). We recommend booking at least 2–3 days ahead. During off-peak months, same-day availability is usually possible, but it's still worth messaging us first.

Can you deliver the scooter to my accommodation?

Delivery availability depends on your location and timing. Message us with your accommodation details and we'll let you know what's possible.

Do I need a motorcycle license to rent?

Yes — Philippine law requires a valid motorcycle or scooter license. Foreign visitors should carry an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside their home country license. A car license alone is not sufficient.

I've never ridden a scooter before. Can I still rent one?

We recommend some prior experience before riding in Siquijor. The roads are generally good, but traffic, road conditions, and unfamiliar terrain can be challenging for complete beginners. If you're new to scooters, message us and we'll give you an honest assessment.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept GCash and cash (Philippine Peso). Other payment options — message us to confirm current availability.

Can I extend my rental while I'm here?

Usually yes, subject to availability. Just let us know as early as possible — ideally the day before your rental ends.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain is common in Siquijor, especially June–October. Most riders continue with a rain jacket. Heavy rain or storms are a different matter — we'll always give you an honest update on conditions. Safety first.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand plans change, especially with travel. Message us as soon as you know — we'll work with you on a fair arrangement. We don't believe in rigid policies that punish honest travelers.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Our standard rental is per day. Half-day options may be available depending on timing — ask us when you inquire.

Can I ride around the whole island in one day?

Yes — the island loop is approximately 72 km and very doable in a day. Most riders complete it in 6–8 hours with stops. See our Island Loop Guide for the full route and tips.

Local Tip from the SiquiRide Team

If you're arriving by ferry from Dumaguete, the first ferry of the day usually docks in Siquijor by mid-morning. That gives you enough time to pick up your scooter, grab breakfast in town and still make it to Cambugahay Falls before the crowds arrive.

Don't wait until you land to book. The best scooters go first — especially on weekends and during peak season. A quick message a few days before your trip is all it takes.

And if you're riding during the rainy season: fill up your tank whenever you see a fuel station. Some stretches of the island loop have longer gaps between stations than you'd expect.
